Dog Re-homing Prevention

Problem Statement:

There are a growing number of dogs 're-homed' due to their owner’s
inability to care for them for financial, social and relocation reasons.

Purpose Statement:
The purpose of this study was to design an effective method of communicating to
individuals who wish to adopt a dog but are unaware of the long term responsibilities
required to ensure a stable, permanent home environment for it.

Introduction

My name is Pamela Hwang and I am a student Graphic Designer. My DAI Major Study is Visual Communication Design and I am minoring in Marketing. My interests are animation, illustration, art, film, fashion, architecture, design and advertising. I am interested in anything creative, unique and visual.

A good story inspires me whether it's a book, movie, or any kind of medium. I especially like reading fictional stories such as Mitch Albom's works or fantasy stories like Harry Potter that explore the imagination. A Pixar movie never fails to WOW me or anything by Tim Burton because they are so detailed and have a lot of character, emotion and amazing visual creations. I am also intrigued by the mysterious graffiti artist Banksy and his rebellious statement works.


At this point, I am not sure how to define my style and influences as I am still trying to figure it out. When I draw, I am definitely influenced with anime, manga and cartoons mixed in with a little fashion illustration. I love looking at haute couture designers who create avant-garde works of art such as John Galliano and Alexander McQueen.


I hope that one day I will be successful in whatever I do financially and career-wise. I do not want to have a specific vision in my life because I feel like nothing goes as we plan them, I should just let things happen as they should and do as much as I can in the moment. Socially, I hope that my friends and family can be proud of me and that I can prove myself to be an independent achiever who can climb the ladder to success.



I try to look at the glass half-full and do what I can to fill it up! Hopefully one day I can toast to my personal fulfillment :)
